EARLY PERFORMANCES, 1974-1982

In this period Bar-On performed extensively. In galleries, private homes, old-people homes, new immigrant centers, kibbutzim, community centers.

"Birds", "Sky", "Walking on a Thin Line", Mr. Davis" and many other.

WOMAN OF THE POTS, 1990-1991

In "A Woman of the Pots", Bar-On began a process of parting from the dimentions of the "Acconcian dilemmas", and in the place of these there returned questions that appear more minor, touching upon contexts of everyday life, the family and the neighborhood.

BREATH. 1995

Idit Porat writes  about "Breath": "The nuances of movement and the oscillations of voice which, together with the visual image of the video, trace lines and forms in the space, formulate Bar-On's "language of no"."

VIEW. 1997-98

In "A Woman of the Pots", Bar-On began a process of parting from the dimentions of the "Acconcian dilemmas", and in the place of these there returned questions that appear more minor, touching upon contexts of everyday life, the family and the neighborhood.

REST. 1999-2005

Performed both in a shopping mall and Opera House, "Rest" engaged splitting of communication channels - action and visual image was accompanied with  a soundtrack heard through the earphones.

SACRIFICE. 1991-2003

This legendary Adina's performance was a mile stone in development of her exceptional style and aesthetics. For audience often an experience of emotional shock, "Sacrifice" left traces in memory and touched deep levels of human psyche.

HOUSE OF COURSE. 2002-2003

The use of voice in this performance, as a deaf mute person, takes apart the form of word enunciation.
"This work is my attempt to question what appears as the inevitability of destruction in the process of construction" - wrote Bar-On.

VISION. 2003

ABOUT LOVE. 2004

This site specific work engaged audience by means of subtle communication forms. Idit Porat wrote about this work as of a process of "transforming the suffering into beauty".

INTRODUCTION TO VISUAL COMMUNICATION. 2005

This is a Performance piece that has the format of a lecture which is accompanied with slides of some Western Classic Visual Artists. - During this performance speech I break the linear format suggesting a new approach to what one may call - Culture.

DISPOSITION. 2001-2009

Nachshon, Israel; Hong-Kong; Quimper, France; Helsinki, Finland; Toronto, Canada; Belfast, Ireland

This performance takes place, as a journey/ a walk, on a chosen venue in an urban space.

Through traffic, crossing roads and familiar land marks I am followed than lost and found.

DREAMY, 2005-2009

40X40 / SENTENCED TO LIFE, 2008-2009

LO! , 2007-2009

My Life Companion has lost his ability to speak but repeats "Lo" - namely, No! in Hebrew – whenever he wished to express something.

Danny, my life companion, is an Army casualty and some how I also find this situation poetic.
This performance is about "Poetic License”.

SACRED 2011-2012

NO MATTER, 2013

"II want to put questions of emotion on the pyre. I think this is an acute issue. I think it is what is lacking, not alienated discussions."

"I'm engaged in tikkun, not from above, but in a language that everybody understands. Empathy to yourself. If you don't love and it's difficult for you now, at least have empathy."

"I engage in communication using my body. This is actually the most ancient language there is, and I enjoy it is so rich "
